Driving defensively is one of the best ways to stay safe while driving and proactively avoid accidents that can cause harm and damage to property. Our ‘Driving Defensively’ programme has been accredited as a Level 2 standard programme by NCFE a UK and International accredited awarding body. Meaning the content of our programme has been tested against Ofqual awarding standards and found to have met them.

Our programme is delivered by driving instructors who are not only used by ROPSA but have decades of experience in delivering such programmes nationally and internationally, normally delivered from our specialist training facilities in the North East of England. However, it can be delivered internationally if required.

At the end of the programme the delegate will:

  • Understand what makes a good driver
  • Proactively identify hazards and risks while driving
  • Understand the system of car control
  • Identify human impacts on safe driving
  • Reduce the likelihood of being involved in an accident while driving.
  • Save the client money through greater fuel economy and wear & tear on the vehicle.

The programme is delivered over 2 days and combines theory with practical driving activities that are continually assessed, culminating in a written and practical test on day two. During practical activities, the ratio of delegates to instructor is 1:3 (1 instructor for every 3 delegates).

This programme is ideal for organisations reliant upon drivers for the delivery of their services and who want to reduce accident rates, injuries, and financial losses caused by operational disruption. It is also suitable for individuals who want to improve their driving skills and reduce the likelihood of causing or being involved in an accident while driving.

For details about the next available course dates, or the delivery of this programme internationally please contact the team via the contact page, or by email.
